Enrichment Offerings

  • Our extended day enrichment programs give the children the opportunity to explore the areas of sports, movement, creativity and more! Most of our offerings are designed for children in our Group IV classes and older. Enrichment will be available to fully potty trained children in Group III.

    If you wish your child to join us for an enrichment as well as Lunch Bunch, please sign-up for both and we will facilitate this.

    Spring 2023 Enrichment will run March 13 - May 19. Registration for all programs closes Friday, March 3, 2023.

  • Wee Little Arts

    Wee Little Arts is a process-oriented approach to preschool arts education that has been overwhelmingly successful in engaging and empowering children by helping them discover the creative process. Wee Little Arts is a method of releasing the natural creativity of young children through the use of mixed-media, drawing, painting and three dimensions. Your child will enjoy this special time with "Mrs. B” as she guides them in all things “Art.”

    Dates: Monday, March 13 - May 15

    Time: 12pm or 2pm

    Cost: $140

    Please note, there will be no class offered on Monday, April 10 in observance of the Easter holiday.

  • Soccer Shots

    Soccer Shots is an engaging children’s soccer program with a focus on character development. Their caring team positively impacts children’s lives on and off the field through best-in-class coaching, communication, and curriculum. Their expert-approved curriculum is age-appropriate and aligns with Virginia's Early Childhood Education Learning Standards. This year at FPP, we will offer Soccer Shots on Mondays at 2pm and Fridays at 12pm. These offerings will be for children in Group III and older.

    Dates: Monday - March 13 - May 15 at 2pm

    Friday - March 17 - May 19 at 12pm

    Please note, there will be no class offered on Friday, April 7 and Monday, April 10 in observance of the Easter holiday.

  • Snack and Roll™

    Snack & Roll™ was developed by Preston Blackburn as a delicious and fun adventure in movement and cooking. Preston, a certified Health Coach and Youth Fitness Specialist, created this program to help kids explore tastes, smells and textures, while folding in a little math and science. Our snacks are raw, whole foods and are gluten, dairy and nut free. This offering will be on Tuesdays at FPP after our 12pm dismissal for Group IV and older.

    Dates: March 7 - May 16

  • Little Yogis

    Little Yogis is a safe space for your child to learn and practice breathing and calming techniques. We will make tools to help us with these techniques as we learn about our feelings and how to be present and mindful of how they affect others. We will learn different poses and put them together into a sequence of moves working and balancing our whole body. This class is taught by FPP's own Ms. Jen and Ms. Jody!

    Little Yogis will operate with a minimum of five children and a maximum of 15. Class is available to children in Group IV, PreK and JK

    Dates: March 14 - Tuesday, May 16

    Time: 2pm - 2:45pm

    Please note, there will be no class offered on Tuesday, March 28.

  • Starz Sports

    The Starz Program for Sports and Fitness classes at FPP will be offered on Wednesday afternoons after our 12:00 dismissal from 12:00-12:45pm. The program explores a new sport each month. Children of all skill levels will improve their individual abilities while developing team work and spirit. This program is perfect for children who want to explore different sports while gaining skills, building athletic ability and having fun. This session, children will explore Golf and T-Ball!

    This program is designed for children ages Group IV and older.

    Dates: March 15 - May 17 at 12pm

    Please note, there will be no class offered on Wednesday, March 29 due to parent/teacher conferences.

  • STEM

    Science, technology, engineering and math all rolled into one! Exposing children to STEM will support development in early thinking and reasoning skills. STEM will lead them to become better problem solvers and learners. Jody and Jen will incorporate hands on learning as we foster creativity and enhance our critical thinking. We will collaborate and explore on different projects, experiments and much more!

    Class will be offered to children in Group IV and above.

    Dates: March 15 - May 17

    Time: 2pm-3pm

    Cost: $200

  • Ballet w/ The School of Richmond Ballet

    The School of Richmond Ballet is thrilled to bring our Invitation to the Dance Program to First Presbyterian Preschool. Your child’s natural love of dancing will be enhanced through body awareness, listening skills, and rhythmic movement. We will explore all the facets of the art of ballet as boys and girls learn about the story, music, costumes and scenery of Carnival of the Animals!. This offering will be on Thursdays at 2pm for Group IV and older (ages 3-5 years).

    Dates: March 16 - May 18

    Please note, class will not be offered on Thursday, April 6 as School of Richmond Ballet will be on their spring break.

  • Social and Emotional Learning w/ First Priority Occupational Therapy

    Does your child demonstrate difficulties with emotional regulation? Does your student understand the different emotions he/she is experiencing? Does your child struggle with using appropriate and safe strategies and tools to regain self-regulation? Ali Temple of First Priority OT has designed this program to increase awareness and understanding of social and emotional health. This enrichment will follow the “Zones of Regulation” curriculum, written by licensed occupational therapist, Leah Kuypers, to help students gain independence and confidence with self-regulation. This offering will be on Thursdays after the 2:00 dismissal and is designed for children in Group IV and older.
