Wednesday brought us a super Mystery Reader and our summer birthdays celebration. We also celebrated Johnny’s 4th birthday today - all smiles here!
We made the most of one of our last few days in Room 204 today and played in our favorite stations.
We are keeping busy in Room 204 with lots of outdoor activities and opportunities to create. On Thursday we said goodbye to Miss Sally and started working on a little surprise for our families!
On Tuesday we released our beautiful butterflies and sowed vegetable seeds in our garden!
Friday was such an awesome day! We had a very special storyteller join us and then we enjoyed a Goldilocks and the Three Bears party. Thanks to Charlie’s family for sharing such a special morning with us!
Today we observed the chrysalis stage of our soon-to-be butterflies, voted on very unique names for them, and had fun climbing through our new class tunnel.
A few highlights from a very busy few days full of fun and lots of books. Thank you to our awesome Mystery Reader!
We opened our flower shop today.
Suzanne and I love sharing all the great things happening in Room 204! Thank you so much for your patience while I finished my current course.
We would like to thank the Cronly and Hamnett families for our Easter Party complete with a fun craft and tasty treats! We would also like to thank Jo Cronly for reading us a special story and talking about dental health. The children enjoyed practicing with a large tooth brush and the cutest dog stuffed animal with big teeth. The treat bags were very thoughtful!
The grocery store was a big success!! Thank you for donating items to stock the shelves. The store is closing soon to make room for a flower shop.
Our caterpillars have arrived!! Our six new friends are happily eating and growing in their habitat. We're looking forward to watching them grow, make their chrysalis and emerge a beautiful butterfly. During circle Friday, we decided to name our new friends. Each child had an opportunity to suggest a name. Your sweet and thoughtful children submitted names of friends in the class. Because we have 13 children and only six caterpillars, I would like to give the children and families more opportunities to suggest names. One of my personal favorites from years ago was Sparkle Pink. After receiving all of our submissions, the children will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite. In the pictures, you will see their sketches of the caterpillars and signs that remind us to stop and only use our eyes.
We are excited about our upcoming field trip to the ARC Park. The details and permission slip are in your child's red folder. Please return the permission slip and Volunteer Personal Automobile Use Form by Friday, May 3rd. All drivers are required to turn in this form with a copy of your drivers license. New pictures will be posted on the blog!
Thursday was all about our open stations and the caterpillars coming our way soon.
