Wee Little Arts
Students will be exposed to the basics of art education. Art history and children’s literature will play a major role in introducing the simple, yet necessary, elements of line, shape, color and texture. In Wee Little Arts, students use a variety of safe, high quality materials which foster their imaginations to think “outside the box”. This Wednesday class is for children in Groups IV-JK and runs from September 18-Nov. 6 from 2:00-2:45 p.m.. The cost is $135.00 for 8 weeks. To register, please e-mail the preschool office.
School of Richmond Ballet is thrilled to bring our Invitation to the Dance Program to FPP. Your child’s natural love of dancing will be enhanced through body awareness, listening skills, and rhythmic movement. We will explore all the facets of the art of ballet as boys and girls learn about the story, music, costumes and scenery of a holiday favorite, The Nutcracker. Children enrolled will receive a student discount to Richmond Ballet’s The Nutcracker.

Join us for a fun building and patterning class, “Tinker”, taught by our own Celeste Schmidt! We will use skills including problem-solving, critical thinking and collaboration to build and document one-of-a-kind structures. From 12:15-1:00 on Tuesdays (9 weeks—$135.00), or 2:00 -2:45 on Thursdays (10 weeks—$150.00), beginning the week of September 16 this class is sure to fill up fast. Snack and Roll
Is your child adventurous? Is your child curious? Does your child love to move? We have the perfect combination! Snack & RollTM was developed by Preston Blackburn, owner of the motor development program Pop, Hop & RockTM as a delicious and fun adventure in movement and cooking. Preston, a certified Health Coach and Youth Fitness Specialist who holds a certificate in Plant Based Nutrition, created this program to help kids explore tastes, smells and textures, while folding in a little math and science. Our snacks are raw, whole foods and are gluten free, dairy free and nut free. Our cooking time is the perfect balance to our time jumping, rolling, kicking, throwing and more as we strengthen our athletic and motor skills. We are looking for kids who are ready for hands on messiness and palates ready for something new! Open to Group IV and Pre-K. Wednesdays 12:00-1:00. The cost is $150.00. Fall Sports Program
On Tuesday afternoons from 2:00-2:45, starting September 17, join the Starz Program for sports and fitness classes. The program explores a new sport each month. Children of all skill levels will improve their individual abilities while developing team work and spirit. This program is perfect for children that want to explore different sports while gaining skills, building athletic ability and having fun. Weekly classes are available for $52.00 monthly. Help your child unwind at the end of the day. A typical class gets the children, singing, dancing, skipping, marching, jogging, laughing, hopping, limbo-ing, and storytelling ALL while practicing yoga. Yoga is a great way for children to learn concentration, calming and coping techniques, as well as self-awareness and healthy habits! Join Carrie Brock- man on Thursdays from 12:00-1:00 September 19-December 19 for this fun, healthy class. (No class on October 10.) The cost is $200.00 for the 12 week program.
