Purpose
The purpose of the First Presbyterian Preschool (“FPP”) Scholarship Program is to provide need-based financial assistance in the form of partial tuition credits (“Scholarships”) for children attending FPP.
Eligibility
Scholarships are available for all applicants to First Presbyterian Preschool (FPP). The FPP Scholarship Program does not discriminate by race, color, national origin, disability, creed, or gender.
Scholarships
Scholarships vary in amount, depending on need and availability of funds, and are granted for one year unless otherwise specified when approved. A Scholarship received by one child in a family (the “recipient”) does not guarantee Scholarship(s) for others in the same family, and a Scholarship received in one year is not a guarantee of a Scholarship in a future year. Applicants may reapply; however, Scholarships will be granted for a maximum of two years for each recipient.
Scholarship recipients and amounts are determined by the FPP Board of Directors in its sole discretion. Generally, the priority for determining the allocation of Scholarship funds is as follows:
Families with annual incomes falling within the latest published “Very Low (50%) Income Limit Category”, as listed annually by HUD in its Metropolitan Richmond Fair Market Rental Area Income Limits Documentation System.
Families where one or both of the child’s parents work in public service (e.g. teacher, social worker, public safety, military), and where the families’ annual income falls within the latest published “Low (80%) Income Limit Category”, as listed annually by HUD in its Metropolitan Richmond Fair Market Rental Area Income Limits Documentation System.
Families with unusual needs or circumstances who are not otherwise included in categories 1 and 2 above.
